Haven House is more than a retreat—it’s a vision for a beacon of light in North Idaho, where families are restored, marriages strengthened, and individuals encounter healing and hope.


But this vision cannot be built alone. Just as it takes a village to raise the next generation, it takes a community of believers, friends, and neighbors to bring Haven House to life.

Haven House is a vision for a beautiful hideaway where couples, families, and visitors can come to rest, be refreshed, and grow together. This retreat will be built on a special piece of land set apart for healing, community, and renewal.

We desire to create a peaceful environment that strengthens relationships and offers opportunities for fun, connection, and healing. Whether through outdoor adventures, relaxing by the fire, or joining in community meals, Haven House will be a place where love, joy, and hope are restored and a place to come back to year after year.

One unique part of our vision is offering organic, gourmet meals—prepared and enjoyed together. After traveling to 19 states and countless RV parks, we found none that combined recreation with nourishing food, so we want to make this a centerpiece of our place.

Our passion flows from our own story—how God redeemed and restored our brokenness over 12 years ago and began a powerful healing journey in our lives.


Our Roots
Joanie grew up farming, and together we have lived as homesteaders for decades. We now feel called to share what we’ve learned—combining faith, land, food, and community—to bless and restore others.




Marriage Weekends:

Marriage retreat weekends will be focused on strengthening marriages through the purity and leadership of Husbands.
Our vision includes couples going out on adventures guided by our team to experience God's beautiful and powerful creation. On these outings husbands and wives will learn to trust each other and conquer fears in order to bond outside of daily life.
We will serve them organic food, study the word, counseling sessions and they will each choose a restoration project to conquer together.

Land stewardship and  classes:

Another ministry focus will be on land stewardship, food production, and a healthy lifestyle.  Our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit. We are made in the image and likeness of God, so it is important to live a healthy life in order to honor our Creator.  When we are healthy and sound, we will be better equipped to help others.  The quote "give a man a fish, feed him for a day: teach a man to fish, feed him for a lifetime" is so valuable in todays world.  There may come a time in the future where food will need to be grown by our own hands, and a-lot of biblical concepts are focused around the agrarian culture.
​We will host canning, cooking, gardening and land stewardship experiences.

Travelers:

We want to provide limited housing for those needing a place to stay or for those doing a work away program or woofing.

​​Purity Camps

We would like to host Purity camps for teens and young adults.
Our mission is to invest time into your children so that they are equipped with the armor of God to combat the temptations of this world. Our weekend will be filled with worship, adventure, food, and activities that teach self-worth and build up their identity in Christ.

​Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God–what is good and acceptable and perfect. Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.

Primitive Skill camps

We want to host camps that teach adults and children all about God's creation and survival skills that give you an opportunity to grow in character and strength.
​Offering things like:
  • Harvesting wild plants and identification
  • Cutting and trying garden herbs and discovering their uses
  • Juicing and benefits
  • Sun teas and outdoor food classes
  • Canning classes
  • Smoking food and salts
  • Off grid ideas and skills
  • Using essential oils for medicinal use
  • Using knives and proper care
  • Firearms range time
  • Primitive cooking using wild forage and game
  • Child rearing respect and reward class

OUR FAMILY VERSE:
ISAIAH 40:31
BUT THOSE WHO WAIT ON THE LORD SHALL RENEW THEIR STRENGTH; THEY SHALL MOUNT UP WITH WINGS LIKE EAGLES, THEY SHALL RUN AND NOT BE WEARY, THEY SHALL WALK AND NOT FAINT.

EAGLES SOAR- THEIR WINGS ARE SO LARGE THAT IF THE EXPAND TO MUCH ENERGY OR FLAP THEIR WINGS THEY COULD ACTUALLY DIE.
SO IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO SOAR WITHOUT FLAPPING THEIR WINGS, THEY HAVE TO WAIT FOR WHAT ARE CALLED WIND THERMALS TO COME UP ON THEM. A WIND THERMAL IS A BIG GUST OF WIND THAT WILL RISE UP FROM THE ATMOSPHERE.
SOMETIMES EAGLES WILL REMAIN PERCHED FOR DAYS BEFORE THEY CAN CATCH A GOOD, STRONG, WIND THERMAL, WHERE THEY CAN THEN LAUNCH ONTO IT AND COMBINE A MIXTURE OF FLYING AND SOARING ON THAT STRONG WIND THERMAL TO GET THEM TO WHERE THEY WANT TO GO.

THE EAGLE HAS TO TAKE THAT BIG LEAP OFF THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO FLY AND SOAR ON THOSE WIND THERMALS.
ANOTHER VERY FASCINATING QUALITY THAT EAGLES HAVE IS THAT THEY HAVE TWO SETS OF EYES. THE FIRST SET IS THEIR NATURAL EYE WHICH THEY HAVE WHEN THEY ARE IN A RESTING MODE.
HOWEVER, WHEN THEY START TO TAKE FLIGHT ON THESE STRONG WIND THERMALS, THEY HAVE A SECOND EYE THAT COMES IN ON THEM. THIS SECOND EYE THEN ENABLES THEM TO FLY ON THESE STRONG WIND THERMALS WITHOUT DAMAGING THEIR ORIGINAL EYE.
THIS SECOND EYE IS ALSO USED WHEN THEY ARE SEEN FLYING THROUGH ACTUAL STORM CLOUDS. THE HEAVY WINDS FROM A STORM CLOUD COULD EASILY DAMAGE THEIR NORMAL NATURAL EYE, AND THIS SECOND EYE GIVES THEM A PROTECTIVE COVERING AS THEY ARE NAVIGATING THROUGH THESE HEAVY STORM CLOUDS.
IF THE EAGLE DOES NOT TAKE FLIGHT ON THOSE WIND THERMALS WHEN THEY DO COME UP ON HIM, HE WILL FOREVER STAY PERCHED AND HE WILL DIE ON THE CLIFF DUE TO STARVATION.

​THE NESTS OF EAGLES ARE BUILT IN THE WILDERNESS:
IT IS IN THESE WILDERNESS TYPE SETTINGS THAT YOUR GREATEST STRIDES IN SPIRITUAL GROWTH ARE ACTUALLY MADE IN HIM.
AN EAGLE HAS:
“STRENGTH, TENACITY, A KEEN SENSE OF VISION, SWIFTNESS OF FLIGHT, INTELLIGENCE, LOYALTY, THE ARE DEFENDERS AND TEACHERS.
LESS COMMONLY KNOWN, BUT EQUALLY NOTABLE, IS THE TENDERNESS THEY SHOW THEIR YOUNG--A SURPRISING CHARACTERISTIC FOR SUCH FIERCE BIRDS OF PREY.”
“PARENT EAGLES INVEST IN, NURTURE, AND VIGILANTLY WATCH OVER THEIR YOUNG.
ANOTHER VERY POWERFUL TRAIT OF THE EAGLE IS THAT THEY ARE VERY BOLD, COURAGEOUS, AND POWERFUL. EAGLES HAVE LITERALLY BEEN SEEN ENGAGING WITH POISONOUS SNAKES AND TEARING THEIR HEADS OFF WITH THEIR BEAK.
THEY HAVE BEEN SEEN GOING RIGHT THROUGH MAJOR STORM CLOUDS, WHERE MOST BIRDS WILL FLY AWAY AND HIDE IN SAFETY UNTIL THE STORM HAS PASSED.
AS GOD CALLED US OUT INTO THE LAND OF THEE UNKNOWN TO WANDER FOR TWO YEARS ON THE ROAD IN ORDER TO TEACH US HOW TO BECOME EQUIPPED FOR HIS MIGHTY FLIGHT.
WE ARE ARMED AND DANGEROUS PUTTING ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD!

LASTLY THE EAGLE IS FAITHFUL:
ONCE EAGLES MATE WITH THEIR PARTNERS, THEY WILL STAY TRUE AND LOYAL TO THAT OTHER EAGLE FOR LIFE. IN THE SAME WAY, ONCE GOD LEADS US TO THE MATE THAT HE WILL WANT US TO MARRY IN THIS LIFE, HE WILL EXPECT US TO STAY TRUE, LOYAL, AND FAITHFUL TO THAT MATE LITERALLY TO THE DAY WE DIE.

WE BELIEVE THE LORD IS IN THE PROCESS OF RAISING UP AN ARMY OF MIGHTY EAGLES. I BELIEVE WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS AS PROPHESIED IN THE BIBLE, AND GOD WILL BE LAUNCHING THIS ARMY OF EAGLES ONTO THE EARTH AND WE ARE ONE OF THEM!
